 This supermarket chain, is rated totally unconcerned regarding proper customer treatment and resulting customer complaints!

We arrived at this store to pickup an ordered prescription medication. At the counter, in front of us, was a female customer filling out forms. The female pharmacist was a short distance away and came over to the customer filling out the forms. She asked how she was doing, the customer replied, I'll have them done in about another five minutes." At this point, since we had no forms to fill out and all we needed to do was to have the pharmacist turn around to the bin behind her, reach for our bag with the medication in it so we could pay for it and be on our way, we asked her to do this. She replied, "I'll be with you shortly, I'm helping this customer." Actually she wasn't "helping" the customer at all, since the customer was filling in her own forms and remaining at the counter not allowing anyone else to be serviced. We again repeated our request to the pharmacist. This time she did not answer but just stood there silently. We went to speak to the manager.

 The manager went to the pharmacy counter, spoke with the pharmacist and then we got the medication, paid for it and then left the store. We sent a letter to the headquarters of Stop & Shop, detailing this event.

THEY NEVER EVEN ANSWERED US! WHAT A LOUSY CUSTOMER-SERVICE ORIENTED POLICY THIS SUPERMARKET CHAIN HAS! SO UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE MIS-TREATED AND REGARDED AN "ANNOYANCE" TO THEM:

Update: ONE WEEK LATER! We did get a telephone call from a "Roger" from somewhere in New Jersey with the area code of 732. Roger, who stated that he represented Stop & Shop, said he was "sorry" for our trouble. When we asked Roger if we might expect a small token representing his "sorrow" in the mail he just laughed and replied with a resounding NO!

What a sad and pitiful example of the person who Stop & Shop offers as a "problem solver!"

Roger certainly could benefit from some intense problem-resolution retraining

A small offering, for our inconvenience and for our long patronage of the store, perhaps a courtesy card, to be applied against our next visit would have served to "right the wrong," and gone a long way in showing excellent managerial skills, but Roger just laughed off our suggestion! What a lowly and miserable way to treat a long-time customer! Now our next visit to ANY Stop & Shop Supermarket will be on the "twelfth of never!" We're NOT going to ANY of their stores! There are BETTER and more CUSTOMER-FRIENDLY supermarkets in both our area...and yours! Stop & Shop, because of Roger's bungling and inept handling of this situation, has now lost, forever, a dedicated and long-time customer!

Well, folks there you have it! A prime example of how Stop & Shop regards their customers. I guess we're welcome in their stores as long as we go there and bring them our hard-earned money, but when their staff treats us like dirt under their feet the corporate biggies at Stop & Shop simply approve of their behavior!
